Interior Design approach by Ruth Burt International

E xtracting a client's tastes and color preferences requires a delicate balance between the precise and intangible. Ruth Burt International masters that balance. She surveys client's personal styles - wardrobe, jewelry and artwork to get a sense of personal style. She accompanies them to a paint store and asks them to identify hues they like and dislike and why as a way to uncover who they are.

"I consider cultural backgrounds, terrain, light, religion and/or spirituality preferences and general lifestyles when understanding a client's reaction to color," says Ruth Burt.

Ruth's goal in her residential design practice intertwines personal values as well, including love, nurturing and integrity. "I want people to love their homes," she says, "to feel home as a place to be who they really are."

The trust involved in such an intimates approach equates to long-standing relationships with her clients. She has moved many of them multiple times.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Ruth believes you must have a vision of what you want before you can bring it to fruition creatively. This deeply held belief crosses personal and professional lines.
